POEM welcomes Constance commitment to Snug Cove Project

‘The commitment by the new NSW State Government to the Safe Harbour
Project in Snug Cove announced by the Member for Bega, and Minister for
Transport and lnfrastructure, Andrew Constance is extremely pleasing”, the
President of the Port of Eden Marina lnc, Fritz Drenkhahn said today.

“We now have a clear way forward.”

“The basic geo-technical work has been completed and details of the project
and a timeline will be announced mid year.”

“We are very pleased that the construction of the attenuator will be done in
conjunction with the Breakwater Wharf extension for the cruise ships. There
are obvious synergies between the two projects and opportunities to improve
efficiency and reduce costs.”

“Hopefully it won’t be too long before the many vessels that shelter on the
south side of Twofold Bay during southerly gales will be able to berth
comfortably and safely in Snug Cove. The town will welcome the opportunity
to show some hospitality and provide the supplies and services the crews will
all appreciate.”
